Overview

The 50kg Human Scale Load Cell is an ultra-thin, coin-style resistance strain gauge sensor designed for weight measurement applications. Inside the sensor is a half-bridge strain gauge. When a downward force or weight is applied, the internal metal template bends slightly, altering the resistance of the circuit.

Because the raw voltage output from a single load cell is incredibly small (millivolts), it is typically paired with an external analog-to-digital amplifier like the HX711 module to talk cleanly to an Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi. This sensor is the standard component choice for engineering students developing smart fitness mats, automated inventory bins, or DIY electronic scales.

  1. Using One Sensor: Pair it with two external 1k-Ohm resistors to form a full-bridge network for basic weight tracking up to 50kg.

  2. Using Two Sensors: Combine two units back-to-back to create a full bridge with a shared capacity of up to 100kg.

  3. Using Four Sensors (Recommended): Connect four sensors in a closed loop ring (like a standard bathroom scale) to build a robust full-bridge system that measures up to 200kg.
