The TMC2208 is an ultra-silent single-axis stepper motor driver chip with an integrated power mosfet stage. It is designed to be a drop-in replacement for standard step/direction drivers found on 3D printer mainboards (like Creality Ender series, SKR, or RAMPS). By utilizing advanced interpolation technology, it can take a standard signal and smooth it out to 256 microsteps, resulting in silky-smooth motor movement, reduced vibration, and near-zero operational noise.
