The LPC5 11x are ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers for embedded Applications. These devices include an ARM Cortex-M0 coprocessor, up to 192 KB of SRAM, up to 256 KB of flash memory, a full-speed USB device interface with crystal-free operation, a DMIC subsystem with a PDM microphone interface and I2S, five general-purpose timers , one SC Timer/PWM, one RTC/Alarm Timer, one 2 -bit Multi-Rate Timer (MRT), Windowed Watchdog Timer (WWDT), eight flexible serial peripherals (each of which can be USART, SPI, or I2C -interface), and one 12-bit 5.0 M samples/sec ADC and temperature sensor. The ARM Cortex-M is a 32-bit core that offers system improvements such as the ‘s low power consumption, advanced debugging capabilities, and advanced support block integration. The ARM Cortex-M processor includes a 3-stage pipeline, uses the Harvard architecture of the with a separate local command and data bus and a third bus for peripherals, and the includes an internal preload device that supports speculative branching. The ARM Cortex-M supports single-cycle digital signal processing and SIMD instructions. The hardware floating point unit is integrated into the kernel.
