The DS3231 is a low-cost, extremely accurate I2C real-time clock. It is the gold standard for projects where time drift is unacceptable. Because it uses a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), it maintains perfect time even when the environment temperature changes. Its the perfect component for alarm clocks, time-stamping sensor data, or automating lights and equipment.
