7K431 is Oxide Varistor. As we know, A circuit is shielded from high-voltage surges using a varistor. The results of applying a high voltage surge to a circuit are typically disastrous for the circuit. The signal wires could have a capacitor put across them. This capacitor, however, is unable to reduce voltage peaks. Its wide voltage range is 18V to 1.8kV.
