The ACS712 5A Current Sensor Module is a sophisticated solution for measuring both AC and DC current. Based on the Allegro ACS712ELCTR-05B-T chip, it uses a copper conduction path located near the surface of the die. Applied current flowing through this path generates a magnetic field which the Hall IC converts into a proportional voltage. This Hall Effect design means your microcontroller is galvanically isolated from the load, providing a crucial layer of safety when working with 220V AC mains.
