Overview

The 12V 40W Ceramic Cartridge Heater is a premium replacement heating element engineered for FDM 3D printer hotends. Encased in a rugged stainless steel sleeve, it features a high-density internal ceramic core winding that delivers rapid, uniform thermal energy to your heater block. Whether you are replacing a burnt-out heater causing Thermal Runaway errors or building a custom high-flow RepRap extruder from scratch, this cartridge guarantees reliable performance and stable temperature maintenance even during long, demanding print jobs.

Key Features

  • Rapid Thermal Response: 40W power rating allows your hotend to reach target printing temperatures (200C+) in under a minute.

  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Stainless steel outer cartridge resists oxidation and corrosion under continuous high-heat cycles.

  • Heat-Insulated Leads: Comes equipped with high-temperature fiberglass-insulated or Teflon-coated wire leads to prevent short circuits near the hotend.

  • Universal RepRap Fit: Standard 6mm diameter fits perfectly into standard MK8, V6, and Volcano style heater blocks.

Safety & Installation Warnings

  • Voltage Match: This is a 12V heater. Do NOT connect it to a 24V control board (such as the Ender 3), as it will draw double the current, overheat instantly, and pose a severe fire hazard.

  • Thermal Runaway Protection: Always ensure your printers firmware (Marlin/Klipper) has Thermal Runaway Protection enabled before installing a new heating element.

  • Secure Fit: Ensure the grub screw holding the cartridge inside the heater block is tight. A loose cartridge cannot transfer heat efficiently and will burn out.
