The 60N60 is a 600V, 60A Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) designed for high-efficiency power conversion. It combines the fast-switching speed of a MOSFET with the high-current handling capacity of a Bipolar Transistor.
In Pakistan, this is a must-have component for heavy-duty repairs in the solar and industrial sectors.
Solar Inverters: Used in the output stage of high-power PV inverters to convert DC to AC.
Welding Machines: The primary switching component in portable IGBT-based arc welding plants.
Induction Heaters & Cookers: Ideal for resonant circuits in induction stovetops and industrial furnaces.
UPS & Power Supplies: High-capacity UPS systems (3kVA to 10kVA) use 60N60 for stable power switching.
The 60N60 is a versatile part and can often be used as a direct replacement or equivalent for:
FGH60N60 / FGH60N60SMD
G60N60 / G60N60BN3H
K60N60
SGW60N60
Alternative: Can be used to upgrade circuits using 40N60 if more current headroom is needed.

Pro-Repair Tip:
When replacing a 60N60 in a welding machine or inverter, always check the Gate Driver IC (like the TLP250 or HCPL-3120). If the IGBT has exploded, the surge likely traveled back and damaged the driver. Replacing both ensures the new IGBT doesnt blow immediately upon power-up.
Thermal Management: Always use high-quality thermal paste and ensure the TO-247 package is tightly screwed to the heatsink.
