The ADS8028 is a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter(ADC), capable of operating at sampling speeds up to1 MSPS. The device is based on a successiveapproximation register (SAR) core and provides aninherent sample-and-hold (SH) front-end.

In addition to having eight analog input channels, theADS8028 offers an internal temperature sensor with0.25C resolution and an internal voltage reference. Anine-channel internal multiplexer enables multiplechannels to be selected (including the internaltemperature sensor) that are indefinitely scanned in asequential manner. A simple SPI-compatible serialinterface provides easy communication and controlbetween the device and host controller. The digitalsupply can operate from 1.65 V to 5.25 V, enablingdirect interface with a wide range of processors andcontrollers.

At full speed of 1 MSPS, the ADS8028 dissipates only 17 mW. The device offers flexible power-downmodes to save power when conversions are notbeing performed. The ADS8028 performance isbeing performed. The ADS8028 performance isrange of 40C to +125C.
